GIRLS BASKETBALL: Stryker Rallies From Halftime Deficit To Open Season With 30-23 Win At Pettisville

Stryker 30, Pettisville 23

PETTISVILLE – In a non-conference opening night girls basketball matchup, Stryker prevailed with a 30-23 victory over Pettisville at the Bird Cage.

The Blackbirds (0-1) led by one point, 10-9, at halftime, but Stryker would then outscore the hosts, 21-13, over the final two quarters of play.

Grace Froelich was the lone player to reach double figures as the senior tallied 17 points leading Stryker (1-0). They were 8 of 41 for 20 percent from the field and 11of 16 from the line along with a 24-16 edge on the boards and committed 13 turnovers.

Addison Davis and Ashalyn Rice both contributed five points each for Pettisville (0-1). They were 9 of 26 for 34 percent from the floor and 3 of 10 for 30 percent from the line while committing 21 turnovers.

PETTISVILLE (23) – Rice 5; Strauss 4; Hastings 2; Miller 3; Davis 5; Beltz 4; Totals: 7-2-3-23
STRYKER (30) – Froelich 17; Oberlin 3; Ruffer 1; Clemens 6; Goebel 3; Totals: 5-3-11-30
