Harold (Wayne) Chappuis, age 89, of Stryker passed away late Monday evening May 12, 2014 at the Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold where he had been a resident since September 2013.
Wayne was born on June 9, 1924 in Stryker, Ohio the son of the late Harold A. and the late Lola B. (Gurwell) Chappuis. He was a graduate of Stryker High School. On January 27, 1945 he married the former Betty M. Brandon and she preceded him in death on August 5, 1995. Wayne was a farmer all of his life. He also helped his father run the Chappuis Dairy. Wayne enjoyed listening to polka and country western music. In his earlier years he enjoyed going dancing with his wife and friends.
Surviving is brother Willis (June) Chappuis of Bryan, four nephews; Michael (Robin) Chappuis , Ronald (Kelly) Chappuis, Darrell Chappuis and Randy (Vicki) Chappuis all of Stryker. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his wife, were his parents, and sister Thelma.
