(September 15th, 2014)-WEST UNITY: It was in dramatic fashion that the Eighth Grade girls of Hilltop earned their third straight victory, this time against the Golden Bears of Bryan.
Thanks to a 25-16 win in game 1, the Lady Cadets enjoyed an early advantage. Yet Bryan came back fiercely, taking the second set 25-12. As the third and final game played on, it became readily apparent that neither side had any intention of backing down. When the dust cleared, however, there could only be one winner, and that winner was Hilltop by the slimmest of margins, 26-24.
That match was preceded by Seventh Grade action, though. After an extremely close game 1, which saw the Lady Cadets obtain a 26-24 victory, the second game proved a much lighter fare. Hilltop took the set 25-7 to win the match.
The victory improves the Seventh Grade Cadets to 4-2 on the season.
