MOTNPELIER:  May 06- The Hilltop Lady Cadets, with the BBC title in hand, faced off with Montpelier on May 6, taking down the host Lady Locos 8-0 in a 2 hit shutout.

Gaining the victory on the mound, Jessica Suboski had a huge day allowing only 2 hits n the afternoon and setting down 6 batters while allowing no walks.

Offensively for the Cadets, Brooke Chapin and Shayla Coffman each went 2 for 4 from the batter’s box, with Chapin driving in 2 runs and Coffman advancing 1 across the plate.  Sydney Schmitt went 2 for 4 on the day;  Bailey Funkhouser recorded a hit in the win along with Allie Schmitt.

For the Lady Locos in the loss, Breanna Stein took the setback, giving  up 6 hits and 7 runs.  Jessy Duchene also saw action, throwing 3 innings allowing 3 hits and a run.

In a tough day at the plate for the Lady Locos, Sydney Houk recorded both hits in the game.
