Irene C. Rohrs, age 99, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Fountain Park in Bryan, Ohio where she had been a resident since 2022.
Irene was a homemaker while she raised her family. Later, she worked for General Telephone until they closed. She then went to Beauty School and became a beautician.
Irene and her sister went into business together for 15 years and then she worked at the Bryan Community Hospital until her retirement in 1998.
Irene was born on August 4, 1925, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Cranston and Beulah (Hoffman) Easler. She married Lester Rohrs on July 26, 1946, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2013.
Irene is survived by her sons, Ronnie (Marie) Rohrs, of Bryan and Gary (Neecy) Rohrs, of Columbia City, Indiana; daughter, Kathy Abata, of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandson; sisters, Lulu Belle Sleesman, of Edgerton, Margaurite Ruble, of Bryan and Phyllis Phipps, of Hillard, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; sons, Stanley and James Rohrs; a great granddaughter; step grandson; sisters, Marion Baerlin, Betty Christman and Letty Hendricks and a brother, Maurice Easler.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 am at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will begin immediately following at 11:00 am with her son, Gary Rohrs officiating. She will be laid to rest at Shiffler Cemetery in a private committal.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made out to the Bryan Senior Center.
