(1969 Graduate Of Evergreen High School)

Linda A. Filas, age 73, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully September 19, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Ebeid Center in Sylvania.

Born on July 17, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, Linda was the only daughter of 5 to James and Erma (Dennis) Langenderfer.

Linda graduated from Evergreen High School in 1969. Motivated to help others, she furthered her education to become a certified State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) and found her calling in caring for others at Whitehouse Country Manor.

Her dedication to her work reflected her compassionate nature and desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those she cared for.

She was very proud of her daughter and grandson who pursued careers in healthcare as well. Linda also worked at the Pilliod Cabinet Company and R&R Plastics.

In addition to her career, Linda cherished her family life and was an active member of the Metamora United Methodist Church, where she found community and friendship. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, and working on word search puzzles, which brought her joy and relaxation.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and support through her daughter, Sandra (Wyatt) Witt, and her grandson, Jordan Witt. She is also survived by her beloved mother, Erma Langenderfer, and her siblings: James (Nancy) Langenderfer, Jerome Langenderfer, Philip (Brenda) Langenderfer, and Douglas (Cathy) Langenderfer; along with many nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Carol. A special thank you to Bert, Marsha and Connie for their love and support. Linda was preceded in death by her father, James Langenderfer.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 27th, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm (Noon) at Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, Ohio. Interment will follow at Wolfinger Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Linda may be made to the Metamora-Amboy Fire Department, Richfield Fire Department or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
