(Resident Of Pettisville)
Carla Sue Rice, 64, of Pettisville, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 19th, 2025.
Carla was born on January 31st, 1960 in Adrian, Michigan to Larry and Judy Hoffman. Carla was known for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering kindness.
She grew up with a strong sense of community and compassion. A passionate supporter of her family, Carla was a fixture at sporting events of all kinds, particularly those involving her grandchildren.
Whether it was football games, basketball games, soccer games or softball, Carla’s presence was always a source of encouragement and joy for her grandchildren. Her loud cheers, big smiles; and warm hugs will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of seeing her at the sidelines.
To them, she was more than a fan—she was their biggest supporter, their loudest cheerleader, and a constant reminder that family is everything.
Carla’s kind heart extended beyond her family. She was an active member of her community, volunteering her time and energy to North Clinton Church as a youth sponsor for several years, and running concessions at Pettisville Boosters while her children were young.
She always brought a smiling face to those who came in for an eye appointment for the last 15+ years at Dr. Emch’s office in Archbold. Her legacy of kindness, loyalty, and dedication to those she loved will be cherished by all who knew her.
Carla is survived by her children, Nicholas (Valerie) Rice, Lindsay (Ryan) Parsons, Chelsea (Austin) Hylander; grandchildren, Ashalyn, Kynzie, Myleigh and Quintyn Rice; Trey, Kelby, Braylon and Rayne Parsons; Grayson, Addi, Ellie and Kalen Hylander; her siblings, Larry (Wanda) Hoffman, Lee (Amy) Hoffman, Colleen (Larry) Handy; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Hoffman and two grandchildren, Miranda Rice and Reese Hylander.
A celebration of Carla’s life will be held on January 27th at North Clinton Church at 10:30 am, with visitation on January 26th from 3pm to 7pm.
