Heaven’s gates opened for Lois Jane Rupp, of Pioneer, Ohio the morning of Friday, May 5, 2023 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan, Ohio, surrounded by her angels.

She was born May 3, 1940 in Attica, Ohio to Lawrence and Esther Moomaw. She graduated from North Central High School in 1958.

Lois married Nelson “Nellie” Rupp on October 18, 1959 at the Pioneer United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death in 2021 and they are now happily reunited in heaven.

Lois was a member of Lake View United Brethren Church in Camden, Michigan and she also attended Pioneer United Methodist Church, where she was a youth group leader for many years.

Lois adored kids and had a passion for teaching them about Jesus and had a heart big enough to share with them all. She owned and operated St, Joe Storage and Drying for many years.

She was also very involved with a dulcimer group and played piano like an angel. The group would play for different nursing homes around the area.

Lois loved sharing Jesus and serving people every chance she could. Gardening and birdwatching were also passions of hers but the one thing she cherished the most was her beautiful family.

Lois is survived by two sons, Carl (Peggy) Rupp of Montpelier and Gene (Joan) Rupp of Defiance; six grandchildren, Michael Rupp, Andrea (Xok) Vilaychith, Nicholas Rupp, Genny Rupp, Jessie Rupp and Margaret “Maggie” Rupp; three great grandchildren, Sawan and Chayton Vilaychith and Alexandria “Alex” Rupp; niece Cristy Craig of Plymouth, Michigan and many grand nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nelson “Nellie” Rupp; parents, Lawrence and Esther Moomaw; brother, Eldon Moomaw; and two nieces, Connie Luce and Cathy Martin.

Visitation for Lois will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Lake View United Brethren Church in Camden, MI with Reverend Stephen Smith to officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 10-11 am at the church. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.

Memorials may be given in Lois’ memory to Lake View youth mission works. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
