Loretta Wells (1937-2019)

Loretta Wells, 81 years, of Sherwood, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Loretta was born June 15, 1937 in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Herman and Irene (Holbrook) Wright.

Loretta married Robert L. “Bob” Wells on February 26, 1955, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2018. Loretta was a press operator for Allied Moulded Products for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Sherwood United Methodist Church.  Loretta enjoyed crocheting, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her two children, Deb (Mickey) Smith of Defiance and Dennis “Denny” (Debbie) Wells of Mark Center; five grandchildren, Jamie Smith, Tiffany Smith, Dustin (Cyndi) Smith, Kimberlee (Dan) Weasel and Rebecca Wells; nine great-grandchildren, Kendall, Mason and Addison Smith, Hayleigh and Heidi Smith, Emma, Gracelynn, Payton and Riley Weasel; two sisters, Wilma Brooks of Arlington, Ohio and Shirley Wright of Lima, Ohio; two brothers, James (Gloria) Wright of Ada, Ohio and Clayton (Jane) Wright of Las Vegas, Nevada.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert; two sisters, Betty Wyse and Leora Reaman and one brother, Donald Wright.

Visitation and Services will be private for the family.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood.


Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to The Laurels of Defiance, 1701 South Jefferson Street, Defiance, Ohio, 43512.
