Maria G. Tijerina, age 76 years, of Archbold, passed away Tuesday evening, June 30, 2020, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born January 26, 1944, at Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Pedro and Gregoria Castillo, and married Manuel Tijerina on May 19, 1963.
A resident of the Archbold area since 1986, she was a homemaker and worked at the Archbold Area Schools and retired from Lears Co. in Wauseon. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Templo Cristiano Assembly of God in Archbold.
Maria is survived by her husband, Manuel; three children, Manuel Tijerina Jr. of Fayette, Melba Tijerina and Jaime Tijerina, both of Archbold; 4 grandchildren; four brothers, George Castillo of Brownsville, TX, Juan Castillo of Houston, TX, Rodolfa Castillo and Gilbert Castillo, both of Brownsville, TX; five sisters, Evangelina Tijerina and Juanita Tijerina, both of Brownsville, TX, Esther Boylan of Archbold, Rosalinda Castillo and Pilar Lopez, both of Brownsville, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 4 siblings.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 3rd, 2020 at 2 PM at the Archbold Cemetery with Rev. Misael Rodriguez officiating. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
