The Metamora Village Council held a special session on Wednesday, November 23rd. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance before moving on to discuss old business.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the purchase of a new 2022 Ford F-350 work truck from Brondes Ford in Toledo.
The Village had previously ordered a new Chevrolet work truck from Dave White Chevrolet in March.
There had been problems getting commercial dump trucks produced and at the moment they are not being manufactured.
If the village continues to wait it may take a while to obtain the truck, if at all, and the price would increase from what it was originally.
Since then, the mayor found a truck at Brondes Ford that is exactly what the village is looking for.
The purchase price for the truck is set at $81,595.00 which includes a markup of $10,000.00 due to the truck being in high demand.
Concerns regarding the price were discussed by council. It was stated that $4,500.00 was deducted from the price for government concession. A plow mount and wiring will need to be added.
The current work truck is a 2002 and it will most likely start nickel and diming the village with repairs, so a new one is needed soon.
Council then moved to purchase the truck, with the mayor first trying to negotiate the $10,000.00 market adjustment and also asking if there are any more monies to deduct for government concessions.
With no other issues to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
