MILLCREEK-WEST UNITY BOARD OF EDUCATION: Board Approves Resolution Allowing Substitute Levy

THE VILLAGE REPORTER

The Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education met briefly on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 7 a.m.

Present were members Brian Wieland, David Chester, Randy Mahlamn, and Sarah Carothers. Member Heather Jones was absent.

Then approved were the minutes and financial statements from the June 2023 meeting, as well as a purchase order for Gordon Foods, the disposal of obsolete, outdated, and broken technology, equipment, appliances, and machinery for fiscal year 2024.


Next year’s curriculum software recommendations were accepted as presented, as were extended time requests for training requirements and work performed outside of regular school hours.

Then accepted was the resignation of Patricia Hart, effective immediately, and the overnight stay request for the volleyball team on August 9 and 10.

Then approved was the farming of 1.5 West Unity acres by the Hilltop FFA free of charge, and a resolution allowing a substitute levy in excess of the ten million dollar limitation.


The Millcreek-West Unity Board of education adjourned the meeting at 7:01 a.m., with their next meeting scheduled for August 14, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the district library.
