PIONEER, April 21– The North Central Eagles played host to visiting Edon on April 21 for a BBC showdown, taking down a tough Edon Squad in 10 innings 5-4 behind the pitching of Branden Turner and a team wide offensive effort in the game.
Turner went the distance for North Central in the game throwing the full 10 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs on the afternoon. Turner also sat down 10 Bombers and allowed just 5 walks in the win. River Wicker went the distance for Edon, taking the loss while allowing 5 runs off of 10 hits. Wicker retired 13 Eagle batters on the day, while giving up just 2 base on balls.
Offensively for North Central, Clayton Ferguson had the hot bat, hitting 3 singles while driving in an RBI; Colton Pilmore had a single and was credited with 2 RBI’s, Turner also accounted for an RBI off of a single at the plate. Josh Sawyer, Steven Williams, Alex Proper and Dylan Hutchison also hit in the game, with Hutchison driving in 1 run.
For the Bombers offensively, Landon Bloir powered out an out of the park shot, while also hitting for a single with 3 RBI’s in the game; Kaden Sapp and Jacob Brown each hit doubles in the loss, while Brock Thiel had a double and a single. Conner Hug and Wyatt Zulch each also connected for hits in the game.
North Central moves to 3-1 on the season in the BBC while moving to 7-3 on the season. Edon falls to 3-2 in the BBC and 6-4 on the year.
