WEST UNITY – There are several ways to rally. The North Central Lady Eagles employed the ‘flying feathers’ method on January 31.
The Lady Eagles pulled into The Bunker to face the Hilltop Lady Cadets, and found a team that had apparently put their meltdown of a week prior well behind them. The hometown girls again went into the fourth quarter with a lead, but this time they did not implode…it was the Lady Eagles that exploded. Trailing by six going into the final frame, the Lady Eagles went off on a 20-11 tirade to stun the Ladies in Red, 53-50.
Bralyn Wyrick hit for 21 points and Shaylee Oyer had 19 for the Lady Eagles, with Sabrina Pickford landing 6 points, Tiana Wheeler 3 points, and McKayla Swank and Hannah Siekemeyer each getting 2 points.
Hannah Bleikamp dropped in a game-high 23 for North Central, with Jackie Smith adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. Sam Lillemon had 6 points and 6 boards, Emily Armbruster added 6 points and 2 assists, and Cierra Carpenter went for 4 points and 7 assists.
