SWANTON (April 16, 2026) — Before this game, Swanton was scoring a whopping 12.5 runs per contest. The Bulldogs didn’t hit their average but put crooked numbers on the board in two different innings to take down Evergreen, 9-1.
Beyla Remer hit a leadoff double, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a bounce-out to put the Bulldogs up 1-0 in the first.
Swanton scratched out another run in the third when Remer singled, stole second and third and then again scored on a ground ball to double the lead.
The Bulldogs put the first of those previously mentioned crooked numbers on the board in the fourth.
Kendall Glonek singled and was chased to third on Carli LaGrange’s base hit. An error plated one Bulldog run, then Cara Ludlow blasted a two-run homer to extend the Swanton gap to 5-0.
Evergreen got one back in the top of the sixth when Riley Studenka reached on an error, went to third on Sydney Bull’s single and scored on a wild pitch. However, the Bulldogs put the game away in the bottom of the inning.
Glonek’s two-run double to left was the big blow in a four-run inning to cap the Swanton (11-2, 2-0 NWOAL) victory.
Remer was the winning pitcher on the mound and had three hits at the plate. Peyton Mossing took the loss for Evergreen (6-4, 1-1 NWOAL).
