(September 16th, 2014)-PIONEER: The Blackbirds of Pettisville and the Eagles of North Central fought through the skies above the net in junior high BBC volleyball action. It was the visiting Blackbirds who claimed air supremacy, winning in straight sets, though that doesn’t properly reflect the efforts of the Eagles in this match.
The Seventh Graders got off to a fast start on both sides. Pettisville was able to gain a crucial set on the road, taking game 1 25-21. With momentum strongly in their favor, the Blackbirds capitalized on it in game 2. They won the set 25-10 to take the match.
In the Eighth Grade match, Pettisville had to grind out a tough win on the road. Game 1 was a tight one, with North Central nearly taking the set. They couldn’t quite pull off the win, however, dropping the game 21-25. The Lady Blackbirds were able to put a little more breathing room between themselves and the girls from North Central in game 2. Pettisville took the set 25-17.
