Pettisville High School students celebrated prom on Saturday, April 18, with walk-in beginning at 5 p.m. The theme for this year’s prom was “Rio,” which students selected after narrowing their choices to three options and voting on the final theme.
The theme brought a colorful, tropical atmosphere to the evening, with decorations inspired in part by the animated movie.
A few songs from the movie’s soundtrack were also included in the dance playlist, helping tie the music and setting together for the night.
Students were treated to a dinner featuring a taco and fajita bar, along with tres leches cake and churros for dessert. The meal added to the theme of the evening before students moved into the cafeteria for the dance.
Students spent the night dancing, visiting with friends and enjoying one of the final major social events of the school year.
Following prom, students were scheduled to take part in after-prom activities at Crazy Pinz in Fort Wayne. Buses were set to load at about 10:30 p.m. before departing for Fort Wayne, with students expected to return to Pettisville around 4 a.m.
