Public Invited to September 11 Tribute Ceremony at Northwest State

September 7, 2013Updated:November 30, 2016No Comments1 Min Read

The public is invited to join Northwest State Community College faculty, staff and students for a 9/11 tribute ceremony on Wednesday, September 11 at 12:15 p.m. Senator Cliff Hite will provide the keynote address for the ceremony, which will include a moment of silence and patriotic music.

The College is encouraging all in attendance to make an “I Will” pledge to honor victims, first responders, firefighters and other volunteers. The “I Will” campaign is part of the 9/11 Tribute Movement, which encourages Americans to view September 11 as a day of service and remembrance.

“People around the world demonstrated compassion and selflessness after the terrorist attacks. It’s in this spirit that we are encouraging everyone to pledge a personal act of kindness, good deed or charitable activity,” said Jared Nofziger, completion coach at NSCC.

The tribute ceremony will take place in the NSCC Atrium and is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, visit www.northweststate.edu or call 419.267.5511.
