Ruby E. Balser, age 93, of Delta, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday afternoon, June 10, 2014. She was born in Colton, OH on March 27, 1921, one of seven children to the late James Young and Maude (Taylor) Young. On November 11, 1968 she married Earl Balser, whom preceded her in death.
Ruby worked as a clerk for Mohr’s Five and Dime Store in Delta from 1955 to 1965 and later at Sheridan Mfg. from 1965 till retirement in 1988. She enjoyed reading, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. Along with her parents and husband Earl, Ruby was preceded in death by her brothers, William, Royce and Marion Young and sisters, Alice Russell and Thelma Beavers.
Ruby is survived by her children, Leonard Makula of Delta, Marion Makula of Delta and Kathy Cunningham of Wauseon; sister, Nancy (Jim) Mattin of Wauseon; grandchildren, Terry, Deb, Margie, John, Kim, Chris, Kevin, Cindy, Meredith, Marc, Michael and Shawn; 25 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received from 5-8 PM on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.
