Stanley W. Philpot, age 62, passed away Tuesday morning, November 10, 2015 at his new home in Floyd, Virginia. Prior to that he lived with his family in Delta, Ohio for 24 years. Born in Athens, Alabama on July 22, 1953 to the late Clarence “Lester” Philpot and Edna (Rogers) Philpot, Stan grew up in Maumee, attended Maumee High School, and graduated from Penta Career Center in Perrysburg in 1971.
Stanley previously served in the Ohio National Guard as an MP. Stan last worked as a C.N.C. technician for Dalton Stryker Machining where he retired at the end of July, 2015. He enjoyed working with wood, most recently completing a beautiful bookshelf, and riding his Harley.
Stan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Terri (Ahrens) Philpot; two sons, Andrew (Andria) Philpot of Stuart, Virginia and Charles Philpot of Floyd, Virginia; two grandchildren, Ayden and Anderson Philpot; sister, Joan King, of Temperance, Michigan, nephew James King and niece Stephannie (King) Cherry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may call from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta. A memorial service for Stan will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Tom Bates will be officiating.
