Suzanne McDonnall, age 78, of Delta, surrounded by her loving family, passed away Monday evening, January 2, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania.
She was born in Monroe, MI on February 23, 1944 to Lloyd Forrest and Irene (Brink) Forrest.
After graduating from Delta High School in 1963, she married James M. McDonnall on June 29, 1963.
Together they shared 55 loving years together, until his passing on January 15, 2019.
Sue served as a beautician for over 35 years, locally with “The Hair Studio” in Delta; which she later became owner.
Sue was an accomplished artist, gifted in oil and water painting.
She also enjoyed weaving, pottery and gardening. Sue was musically talented, along with being athletic; which she demonstrated in her tennis skills.
Sue enjoyed socializing with her many friends and loved beach vacations as well as going out west.
During the winter season, she and Jim enjoyed the home they built in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Sue was an active member in the Delta Church of Christ, volunteering to serve in many capacities as needed.
She is survived by her children, Jill (Michael Levison) McCready of Sylvania, and Christopher (Joellen) McDonnall of Delta; brother, John Forrest; sisters, Shirley (Dick) Butler, Caddie (Terry) Pontius and Cindy Brison; grandchildren, T.J. McCready, Andie (Tim) Smith, Scott (Carly Weber) McDonnall, Hailley (Austin) Arps, Jayce Levison, Elayna (Noah Saunders) Levison, Avi Levison, Alexa Levison; great grandchildren, Cord Christopher Arps and Wren Suzanne McDonnall; along with many dear friends.
Along with her parents and husband, James McDonnall, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Lonnie; brothers, Tommy and James Forrest; brother-in-law, Dan Brison and sister-in-law, Gloria Forrest.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM -8:00 PM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Delta Church of Christ, 500 Providence St., Delta, OH 43515. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 also at the Delta Church of Christ. Pastor David Underwood will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
