Thelma A. Wilson, 98, of Alvordton, passed away early Thursday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on Oct. 6, 1918 in Napoleon Township to George G. and Martha (Gabers) Weirauch. In 1987 Thelma retired from Fayette Tubular after 22 years. Thelma loved sewing, traveling and Christmas. She enjoyed making others smile and always had a good time.
Thelma is survived by her two sons, Allen Wilson Jr. of Montpelier, Ohio and Robert (Jean) Wilson of Alvordton; two daughters, Sue (Darrel) Landel of Waldron, Michigan and Judith E. Graber of Alvordton; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Rock Weirauch of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and Orville Weirauch of Napoleon; one sister, Ruth (August) Schakow of Defiance; sister-in-law, Mabel Wilson-Beard of Portland, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen A. Wilson in 1936; second husband, Austin O. Wilson in 1994; son, Larry; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Wilson; grandson, Duane (Cindy) Wilson; one sister, Rose Dominique; and four brothers, Lyle, Raymond, Richard and Lawrence Weirauch.
Visitation for Thelma will be from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday with Pastor Dan VanArsdalen to officiate. Private Interment will take place at a later date at Myers Cemetery in Defiance County.
