The Wauseon Board of Education held their meeting on Friday, September 8th. The meeting began at 1:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The board first moved to approve minutes from the previous meeting before then moving to commend the following students for their “outstanding performance” as a member of the High School Speech Team.
2023 Graduate Ashton Meraz, 12th-grade student Shawn Robinson, and 12th-grade student Nicole Stein.
The board then heard a report from High School Principal Keith Leatherman regarding Ohio Graduation requirements before then hearing from Lisa Dietrich regarding Chromebook Insurance Fund payments.
The following items were then approved as part of the Treasurer’s Consent Agenda. The monthly bills and financial report, an additional change fund for the MS Speech Club in the amount of $150.00, and fund-to-fund advances for $2,000.00 from 001 General Fund to 007-9023 Don’s Scholarship Fund and $500.00 from 001 General Fund to 200-9181 MS Speech Fund. A list of donations were also approved along with information regarding a Records Commission meeting held on August 25th.
Numerous personnel recommendations were then handed down before being approved. The Board then moved to enter into Executive Session before later moving to adjourn with no action being taken.
The next Wauseon Board of Education meeting will take place on Friday, October 16th, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Board Office.
