Wayva Brown (1947 – 2024)

(Worked At Edgerton Metals For 25 Years)

Wayva Ann Brown, 77, of Montpelier passed away Monday, September 2, 2024 at her home. She was born on August 24, 1947 in Edgerton to Vernice N. and Mildred M. (Kuszmaul) Gallant.

Wayva graduated from Edgerton High School. On November 4, 1967, she married Clell Harlen Brown and he preceded her in death.

Wayva was a member of the Living Hope Free Methodist Church in West Unity. She worked at Edgerton Metals for 25 years.

She then worked as a home health care aide at the Williams County Health Department and at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. Wayva was an avid reader, enjoyed her church, was very family oriented and she loved her grandchildren.


She is survived by her children Charles (Mary) Brown of Montpelier, Christine (Richard) Merillat, Jr. of West Unity, Vickie (Johann) Bostater of Pioneer; stepchildren Darrell (Liz) Brown of Waverly, Ohio and Barbara (Mike) Bellaw of Waverly, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Wayva was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Lewis Gerry, six brothers and one sister.

Visitation for Wayva will be on Thursday, September 5th from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Friday at 11am at the Living Hope Free Methodist Church, 1051 West Jackson Street in West Unity with Reverend Tom Buratovich to officiate. Interment followed at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Living Hope Free Methodist Church. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
