
William D. Beck, age 82 years, of Camden, MI, passed away Monday morning March 11, 2019, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.
He was born February 1, 1937, at Wauseon, OH, the son of John “Jim” Beck and Alma (Nofziger) Beck.
Bill was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon, OH. Soon after graduating from Pettisville High School he was injured in a farming accident which left him with limited use of his legs. Bill never let that stop him from living his life to the fullest.
Bill spent most of his life as a car salesman. He worked at Short’s Chevrolet in West Unity, OH and eventually purchased the dealership. Besides selling cars Bill enjoyed watching NASCAR. After retirement he would spend the winter months in Florida making sure to attend the Daytona 500 before returning to his home.
Bill is survived by one brother James (Charlene) Beck of Archbold; one sister Lois Rufenacht of Archbold; sister-in-law Laura Jane Beck of Archbold; brother-in-law Milton Stauffer of Alma, KS; many nieces and nephews; and his canine companions Jackie and Penny. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert “Bob” Beck; sister Pauline Stauffer; and brother-in-law Marlin Rufenacht.
Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2019 at West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon, OH from 10:00-11:30 a.m. with the Memorial service following at 11:30 a.m.
