Ray Koch (1954-2020)

Raymond P. Koch, age 66, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 10:55 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Ray retired from Spangler Candy Company and had also worked at Mohawk and Ferguson Tools. After he retired, he worked at CE Electronics until his passing.

Ray had been a member of the Jaycee’s in Montpelier and was a member of the Williams County Fair Board and Williams County Conservation Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, flying remote control airplanes, woodworking and repairing old Volkswagens with his former father-in-law, Bill Tait.


Raymond P. Koch was born on April 7, 1954 in Bryan, the son of James C. and Marie G. (Creamer) Koch. He married Josey M. Potter on February 7, 1998 in Pioneer and she survives.

Ray is also survived by his son, Erin (Jenni) Koch, of Alvordton; grandchildren, Cody Koch, of Edon and Zoe Koch, of Pioneer; great granddaughters, Emerlee Koch and Ivee Altaffer, both of Edon; brother, James (Grace) Koch II, of Edgerton and sisters, Geri Cliffton, of Bryan, Florence (Roger) Patrick, of Edgerton, Karen (Al) Wade, of Montpelier and Jackie (Alan) Ordway, of Edgerton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Brenda Smith and Barb Knapp.

A gathering celebrating Ray’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Williams Center Community Building from 2:00-5:00 P.M. Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan has been entrusted with the services.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Fresenius Dialysis Center, 537 West High Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
