Catherine M Huntley (Kitty), age 85, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away at the ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sylvania, Ohio, on Wednesday morning, July 6th, 2022, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Kitty was born on September 21, 1936 in Lowell, Massachusetts, but lived in Lyons, Ohio for most of her life, only recently moving to Toledo 3 years ago.
Kitty was an avid quilter, loved to sew and was well known and loved for her hand made teddy bears and her love of carousel horses.
Kitty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Gene Huntley in March of 1995, and her cherished friend, Frank Himelhan Jr. in March 2019.
Kitty is survived by 3 children Scott, Mitzi and Jason Huntley and several grandchildren. Kitty is also survived by her sister, Marion Baril and husband, Bob of Litchfield, NH and Ann Silva of Lowell, MA; as well as her God Daughter and birthday buddy Marion Simoneau of Litchfield, NH. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many dear friends both in Lyons and at Alexis Gardens, where she resided for the last 3 years, as well as her four legged companion, Sandy.
Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen (Duffy) Evans; brothers, Daniel and Joseph Furtado; sisters, Frances Nicholson, Mary Alice Gauthier-Scomis, Evelyn Boucher and Susan Evans.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff and senior helpers at Alexis Gardens as well as the Hospice nurses at ProMedica for the wonderful care they provider Kitty during her final days.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Lyons Cemetery.
