The Swanton Village Council held their meeting on Monday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Council first moved to approve an amended version of the agenda in order to add items to new business, such as a motion to approve the financial statement and appropriation line item for the veteran’s banners.

Minutes from the previous meeting were then approved before moving on to public comments.

Committee reports came next with water and sewer going first. The membrane project is being delayed due to supply chain issues.

It is looking like it will be out until at least March. Under finances, the agenda was amended to include the October 2022 financial documents. There were no abnormalities in that month.

The 2020 and 2021 financial audit is nearly completed and should be completed by the end of the month. Personnel performance evaluations are also almost completed.

Moving to old business, council moved to approve the following legislative items. The third and final reading of an ordinance creating an outdoor refreshment area in downtown Swanton.

The third and final reading of an ordinance regarding the penalty for returned checks with codified ordinances. The fee is raised to $50.

For new business, council moved to approve personnel changes to the Swanton Fire Department.

The financial statements and line items for veteran’s banners were then approved before moving to hear a report by the mayor and village administrator.

With no further business before council the meeting was adjourned.
