The Montpelier Board of Education held a special meeting on May 24, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.

After roll call, there was a moment of silence and the pledge of allegiance before the minutes of the May 8 special meeting were approved as presented.

Then approved was the employment of certified staff, including the retirement of elementary teacher Stacie Yagelski.

Classified staff employment recommendations were approved as presented, as were purchase and service contracts, which awarded the paving bid to Ohio Asphalt Paving for $75,875.

Boys’ basketball camp was approved to take place at University of Findlay on June 16-17, the 2023-2024 student handbook was approved, and an archery tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on June 8, was also approved.

The Board then entered into executive session, where they approved salary schedule increases at 2% per year for fiscal years 2024-2026 for administrative employees and 3% for classified employees for the same term before adjourning.
