Carolyn Lucille Traxler, age 77, of Pioneer, OH, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Parkview Montpelier Hospital. Carolyn worked at Pioneer Transformer for 5 years, North Central Schools in food service for 15 years and KAMCO Industries for 18 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of New Hope Community Church and their Ladies Bible Study. Carolyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, baking, and time with her family.
Carolyn was born on Sept. 24, 1948, in Hillsdale, MI, the daughter of Joseph M. and Charlotte A. (Stenger) Barns. She graduated from Camden-Frontier High School.
Carolyn married Lowell R. Traxler in Kunkle, OH, on Aug. 31, 1968, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2022.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Leslie (Sara) Traxler, of Pioneer and Stanley (Kim) Traxler, of Brooklyn, MI; grandchildren, Nathan, Evan (Shanti), Brendon and Lila; and her sister, Barb (John) Carpenter, of West Unity. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brother, Larry Barns.

Visitation for Carolyn will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, OH, and one hour prior to services. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Fernihough officiating. Burial will follow at Shiffler Cemetery.
