(Member Of First Lutheran Church)

Alma L. Weaver, age 84, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Community Health Professionals Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.

The daughter of Donald W. and Anna Irene (Leininger) Bly, Alma was born on April 21, 1940. She moved to Bryan, Ohio, in her sophomore year of high school after relocating sixteen times.

Alma was honored as the 1958 senior homecoming queen, accompanied by her future husband, Anthony “Tony” W. Weaver, the football captain at the time. The couple was married on May 6, 1961, and enjoyed fifty-four wonderful years of marriage.

A cherished member of the community, Alma was a member of the First Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy in life was watching her daughters play sports, never missing a single game with her husband by her side.

Alma loved playing bridge and was known for her kindness, compassion, and ability to listen. Her daughters will deeply miss her unconditional love and the cherished memories of their yearly family vacations to Bethany Beach.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Polly A. Weaver, of Bryan and Jennifer “Jen” L. Weaver, of Willoughby, Ohio; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on April 9, 2015, and her son, Timothy W. Weaver whom she eagerly awaited to reunite with after fifty-eight years.

Private graveside services were held at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.

Memorial contributions in Alma’s name are requested to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, www.alexslemonade.org or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, www.alzfdn.org.
