Charles J. Keller, 77, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at Vancrest of Payne, Ohio.
He was born on Jan. 12, 1947, to Carl and Gladys (Boedecker) Keller in Lima, Ohio.
Charles was a 1966 graduate of Spencerville High School and worked as a laborer for Gendron in Archbold. On June 16, 1972, he married Diane Niese who preceded her on Dec. 24, 2021.
He was a member of Poplar Ridge Church, Defiance. He served on the Civil Air Patrol and was a volunteer for the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company and worked for the Lima Shawnee Fire Departments as well as being an EMT in Bryan, Ohio. He was always willing to help others.
Charles loved photography and was the photographer for Stryker Fire Department and Stryker Basketball. In his spare time he enjoyed trap shooting, archery, model trains and guns.
He was also a collector of steins and coffee cups. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes. Most importantly he loved his family and spending time with the grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his sons, Paul Keller of Willoughby, Ohio, and Patrick (Carly) Keller of Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alison (Justus) Janzen of Willoughby, Ohio; Logan (Jordan) Keller of Camp Pendleton, California; Eleanora Keller of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and great-granddaughter, Magnolia Keller of Camp Pendleton, California. Charles is also survived by his sister, Wilma Richardson of Middle Point, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Diane Jeanette Keller.
Services for Charles will be private. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangement.
