Clair E. Ham, age 71, of Montpelier and formerly of Delta, peacefully passed away at his Lake Seneca home in Montpelier on Saturday morning, August 8, 2015. He was born in Morenci, MI on May 12, 1944 to the late Charles Ham and Ines (Pennington) Ham. He was united in marriage for 20 years to Jeannie (Willeman) Ham, who survives and together were blessed with two sons, Todd and Troy.
Clair served in the U.S Army from 1965 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. In 1993 Clair married Martha Jayne (Reichert) Ham and she preceded him in death in 2010. Clair and his late wife of 17 years, Jayne were longtime residents of Delta. Before retiring, he worked as a foreman for Miller Brothers Construction for many years. Clair was a member of the Delta Eagles, American Legion and the Montpelier Moose Lodge. Some of his fondest hobbies were fishing, traveling the lake on his pontoon boat, golfing and visiting the casino with friends.
Forever cherishing his memory will be his sons, Todd Ham and Troy (Lauren) Ham; stepson, John (Kathy) Antoszewski and grandchildren, Connor, Katelyn and Madelyn Ham, Brandon and Brittany Antoszewski; sisters, Brenda (Doug) Lyons, Barbara (Bruce) Boyles and Cheryl (Frank) Michalkiewicz; special friend and companion, Joyce Laub.
Friends may visit from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta; where a funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 6:00 PM. Clair’s grandson, Connor Ham will be officiating. All are invited to the Delta Eagles for a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be considered to the American Cancer Society, P.O Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Ohio, 3883 Monroe St., Toledo, Ohio 43606 in his memory.
