Dorothy L. Rigg, age 80, passed away under hospice care early Wednesday morning, January 24, 2024 at Northcrest Rehabilitation and Nursing in Napoleon.
She was born in Adrian, MI, on January 14, 1944, to the late Harry Coleman and Clara (Harvey) Coleman, one of eleven children. Dorothy graduated from Morenci High School.
On June 1, 1974 in Neapolis, Ohio, she married James C. Rigg; who survives. Together they had one daughter, Michele, who also survives.
Dorothy was known to be a homemaker, always taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In her spare time, you could find her playing bingo, doing word searches, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her husband, James; daughter, Michele (James) Smith of Morenci, MI; grandchildren, Packard (Jamie) Smith, Catalina (Will) Anthony; great grandchildren, Exodus “EJ”, Naddilyn “Naddie”, McKenna “Kenna”, Barrett “Bare” and Chevelle “Peanut”; Hayden, Kinsley, and Knox; one sister, June Richman.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Damien; great grandson, Gavin; brothers, Tim, Walter “Wimpy”, Howard, Francis and Bob Coleman and sisters, Robin Coleman, JoAnn Ries, Harriet Harris, and Joyce DeMass.
There will be no public services at this time and a memorial service honoring Dorothy’s life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.
