Gladys Mable (Schrock) Nofziger of Napoleon, Ohio, formerly of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away at Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Napoleon on October 5, 2018, at the age of 93. She was born March 30, 1925 in Bay City, Michigan. She was the daughter of Serenus and Malinda (Ropp) Schrock.
Gladys was married to Wayne E. Nofziger on August 8, 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by a son, Calvin Nofziger, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verda Rupp and Ilva Stuckey; and a brother Donald Schrock.
Gladys raised turkeys for Archbold Elevator and quilted professionally for many years.
Surviving are children Connie Watson of Fostoria, Marcille (Michael) Eash of Canton, Arlynn Nofziger of Ocee, Florida, and Beverly (James) Griteman of Napoleon; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters Annabelle Rupp and Mary Rogoff; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 500 N. Defiance St. in Archbold, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at North Clinton Church, 831 W. Linfoot St., Wauseon, where Gladys was a charter member. Interment will follow at Pettisville Cemetery.
