November 11, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

(Translator For Williams County Courthouse)

Isabel Hernandez, age 79, of Bryan, passed away surrounded by her family at the Inn at Fountain Park on Friday, November 10, 2023 following a lengthy illness.

Isabel retired as office manager at American Steel and had previously worked at Sauder Woodworking.

She also worked as a translator for the Williams County Courthouse and as a teacher’s aide. Isabel enjoyed gardening, reading, scrap booking, DIY projects and loved to dance.

But most important to her were her children and grandchildren. She was a great supporter of all their activities and could be found on the sidelines of their sporting events.

Isabel was born on April 7, 1944 in Mercedes, Texas, the daughter of Salome and Leonarda (Cantu) Hernandez.

Isabel is survived by her daughters, Yolanda (Doug) Gill, of Ridgeville Corners, Michelle (Keith) Trubey, of Bryan, Gina (Scott) Elick, of El Paso, Texas; son, Michael Gonzalez, of Defiance; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and sister, Ofelia (Armando) Tijerina, of Harlingen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and 7 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 P.M. with Reverend Andrew Wellmann officiating. She will be laid to rest at Fountain Grove Cemetery in a private ceremony.

The family requests memorial donations be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
