Joyce Sauber (1943-2022)

Fayette- Joyce Ann Sauber, age 78 of Fayette, passed away on January 1, 2022 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1943 in Jackson, MI to Arthur and Elizabeth (Gallaway) Allen.

She married Donald Beaverson, the father of her children, and he preceded her in death. Joyce later married Gerald “Tom” Sauber in 2001 and he survives her.

Joyce partnered with her daughter, Kristy, to own and operate their own bakery, “The Bake Shop”. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and reading.

Family was very important to Joyce, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. Joyce liked to play cards, watch scary movies and put on puppet shows for them.

She was a devout Christian and attended Betzer Community Church. Joyce often shared her home with others always having coffee or a meal ready for her guests.

Joyce was the matriarch of her family, and she will be greatly missed by all of those that loved her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Allen and Elizabeth Bernstein; step-father, Lester Bernstein; late husband and father of her children; Donald Beaverson, brother, Rex Bernstein; niece, Heather Bernstein and step-son, Ben (Teresa) Sauber.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Gerald “Tom” Sauber; her children, Jill (John) Nichols, Julie (Mark) Hausch, Kristy Clouse, Joel (Amy) Beaverson and David Beaverson; step-sons, Bruce (Cindy) Sauber, Brian (Victoria) Sauber, Eric (Jody) Sauber and Sam Sauber; brother, Ned (Bonnie) Bernstein; sister-in-law, Barb Bernstein; along with 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation for Joyce will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette with burial to follow at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Archbold.

Memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.eaglemarryfuneralhome.com
