February 13, 2021No Comments2 Mins Read

Norma V. Gorsuch, age 100, of Archbold, was called home to be with her Lord, Thursday afternoon, February 11, 2021 at the Sunset Village in Sylvania, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born in Hamler, Ohio on April 27, 1920 to the late Benjamin and Alvina (Bremer) Lindau and later moved to Delta.

She married Earl Gene Gorsuch on April 30, 1939 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon and he preceded her in death in 1993 after 55 years of marriage.  For many years Norma worked with her husband as secretary for Gorsuch Plumbing, Heating and Water Soft Business.

She was very active in the community during her younger years. After retiring from the business, she took the civil service test and was employed with the Ohio State Unemployment Services.

Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon since 1937, where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Group and Women of the Church.  She was past president of the Girls Christian Fellowship Board and of the Wauseon Business and Professional Women’s Club.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda (Dennis Johnson) Gerken of Delta and Beverly Klopfenstein of Wauseon; brother, James C. Lindau of Manitou Beach, MI; grandchildren, Kay (Jeff) Ziegler, Todd (Beckie) Yoder, Luke (Connie) Frey, Matthew Frey and Leigh (Michael) Mattin; great grandchildren, great great grandson, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert C. Lindau; sons-in-law, Dale Klopfenstein and Robert Gerken.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a private funeral service honoring Norma’s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon with Pastor Roger Marlow officiating. Private interment will follow at Wauseon Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express a show of sympathy are encouraged to consider Trinity Lutheran Church, 398 S. Shoop Ave, Wauseon, OH 43567 or Ashanti Hospice, 4020 Indian Rd., Suite A, Toledo, Ohio 43515.

A special thank you to the loving staff at Sunset Village in caring for Norma like family during her stay.
