Paulene (Nafziger) Rossman, age 93 years, of Wauseon, died peacefully Thursday evening, April 16, 2015 at Fairlawn Haven nursing in Archbold after a ten year struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on March 29, 1922 to Charley and Malinda Nafziger. She graduated from Pettisville High School Class of 1940. She married Gene Rossman on September 18, 1948, and together they owned and operated Rossman Meats in Wauseon.
Paulene was raised in the Central Mennonite Church of Archbold where she sang in a woman’s quartet and worked summers at Little Eden. After marriage, she became an active member of the First Christian Church in Wauseon.
She is a sixty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having held many offices. She was a member of Wauseon CCL. She played in a women’s card club for over fifty years. In her retirement she volunteered at Care and Share Tatter Club, was a quilter at Sauder Village, and at her church. She has made countless sugar cookies for benefits, fundraisers and gifts.
She is survived by sons David (Dee) Rossman of Findlay, and Tom (Celeste) Rossman of Bryan, and daughter Rev. Mary Jo (Bill) Bray of Wauseon. Grandchildren are Greg, Mark (Dany), Carrie (Clark), Lantz (Crystal), Lorne, Jacob and Emily, and one great-grandson, Chance. Paulene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Earl, Ora, Vern, Loren Nafziger, and sister, Lillian Sauder.
