(Stryker Resident; Owned Lazy Life Campers)
Ralph E. Dohm, Jr., age 91, of Stryker, passed away on August 25, 2024, in his home. Ralph owned Lazy Life Campers, where he spent the majority of his life repairing campers.
Ralph was born on March 23, 1933, in Pioneer, to the late Ralph E. and Loretta Dohm, Sr. In 1951, he married Willo Almeda (Beck), who preceded him in death in 2007.
Ralph worked many jobs in his life. He worked as a beer truck driver for Old Dutch, hauled house trailers out of Stryker for a few years, worked as a welder for Challenge-Cook Brothers, and also made cement barrels.
He always had a second job on the side, either working on cars or working for Sanford Dairy Farm. However, his true passion was working on campers, which he did for 40 years with his business. He really enjoyed campers.
A 30-minute job would turn into a two-hour job as he talked with his customers. He also worked at all of the campgrounds in the area. Later in life, he and Willo enjoyed traveling and camping.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Kathy Brown of Oakwood; son, Billy (Marcia) Dohm of Archbold; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Sue. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willo; parents; son, Danny Dohm; son-in-law, Greg L. Brown; and brothers, Jim Dohm and Marion “Ed” Dohm.
There will be no services following Ralph’s wishes. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. The Grisier Funeral Home of Stryker is honored to serve the Dohm family.
