Remona May Cowie, age 96, of Wauseon, Ohio, was called home to her Lord and Savior with her family by her side; Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Northcrest Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Napoleon, Ohio.
She was born to the late Stanley and Rita (Bouley) Kalash on September 1, 1928 in Wyandotte, Michigan. On February 9, 1946 she would marry Charles P. Cowie and they would welcome four children and remained married 47 years until his passing on October 25, 1993.
Remona was known for her baking skills, which included creating beautiful wedding cakes and Christmas tree cookie ornaments. She had a knack for ceramics and enjoyed playing bingo regularly.
Remona was a campfire leader, a member of the Parent Booster Royal Lancer Drum and Bugle Corps and VFW Auxiliary #1136 in Wyandotte, MI.
Remona’s talent with crocheting, knitting and sewing led to many personalized Christmas stockings and Afghans for family members and friends.
Remona is survived by her children; Rita McClintic of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Nancy (Gary) Collier of Gaylord, Michigan, Alice Ames of Wauseon, Ohio and Charles D. Cowie of Wyandotte, Michigan; grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) Howey, Jeremy (Tammy) Ames, Kevin Doran, Michael McClintic, Jared (Jessica) Ames and Vanessa Curley; brother-in-law, Ray Andres and many great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Remona was preceded in death by her sons-in-law; Allen McClintic and Randy Ames; sister-in-law, Pat Kalash; granddaughter Corrie Cowie; sisters, Dorothy Andres, Violet Johnson and brother, John Kalash.
Per her wishes there will be no service. Interment will be at Ferndale Cemetery in Riverview, MI; where she will be reunited with her parents.
