The Springfield Township board of trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, to review routine business. Scrap yard hauling prices, child-at-play signs and audit results were discussed during the meeting.

Trustees Steve Planson, Ed Ruffer and Eric Creighton were in attendance. Zoning Inspector Todd Burkholder was also present.

Fiscal Officer Patti Rosebrock, though absent, left a note stating the Springfield Township audit has been successfully confirmed by the state auditor.

After approving the minutes of the May 20, 2026, session, trustees approved and signed the bills as well.

Burkholder presented his zoning report. One permit application was submitted by a Springfield Township resident. A conditional-use hearing is scheduled with the zoning inspector and will be held at the Springfield Township Town Hall before the next township meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 p.m.

A resident attended the meeting to ask for an update regarding child-at-play signs being installed in the township. Since Road Supervisor Mike Short was absent, no update was given, but the trustees assured the resident it was still a priority.

The trustees reviewed old business, and scrap hauling price estimates were discussed. Creighton stated that there was a place in Perrysburg that would be interested in hauling the scrap for $1,000 a load. The trustees will continue to review the quotes and make a decision soon.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m. The next Springfield Township trustee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
