Thomas W. Mack Jr., age 68 of Delta, with his loving family by his side; peacefully passed away at his home Saturday evening, July 25, 2015. He was born in Toledo on December 1, 1946 to the late Thomas W. Mack Sr. and Bernice (Creque) Mack. Tom graduated from Delta High School in 1964.
On August 19, 1967 he married Judy Spillis and they shared 47 years together. Tom and his wife Judy owned and operated the Delta Atlas Newspaper from 1995 to 2013. By far Tom’s fondest hobby was fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Together with his family, countless stories and memories were created at some of his favorite locations, Gordon and Ottertail Lake in Canada and Lake Millecoquin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Tom even incorporated his weekend excursions into his weekly newspaper column titled “Gone Fishing”, adding humor and wonder for the readers.
Tom and his wife were blessed with two sons, Joseph (Jodie) Mack of Delta and Michael (Cheryl) Mack of Wauseon. In addition to his wife, Judy and sons, he is survived by his grandchildren, Maddison (Colin Baney) Mack, Keegan Mack and sisters, Nancy (Larry Desgrange) Mack, Teresa Mack and Ann Marie (Lyle) Favorite.
