
Viola J. Bashor, 78, of Pioneer passed away Monday morning at Genesis HealthCare Center in Bryan. She was born on June 28, 1941 in Superior Township to Clair C. and Katharine E. (Wallace) Cogswell.
Viola graduated from North Central High School in 1960. She married Amos M. Bashor and he preceded her in death.
Viola attended the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Spokes Restaurant in Pioneer for over 10 years, and at Sooz Restaurant for 8 years. Viola enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, David (Pongsri) Loomis of San Antonio, Texas and Kathryn (Troy) Kirkendall of Pioneer; three grandchildren, Truly (SSG Darryl) Robinson of Fort Drum, New York, Angelia (Scott) Wagner of Pioneer and John (Ashley) Rathke of Montpelier; eight great grandchildren, Taylor, Donavan, Dierks, Sawyer, Elliott, Huxley, Kyle and Violet; brother Robert (Fay) Cogswell; and sister Sue (Loren) Thompson. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Amos, and niece Holly Thompson.
Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2019 from 10-11am at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Graveside services will follow at 11:30am at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with Pastor Gene McBride to officiate.
