Violet Montgomery (1921-2021)

Violet I. Montgomery, 100, of Montpelier passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on December 17. 2021.  She was born on March 24, 1921 in Bryan to Clayton Leroy and Alice Ethel (Bloir) Churchman.

On August 27, 1940 she married Clarence F. Montgomery, Wabash Railroad Conductor, in Napoleon and he preceded her in death in 2012.

Violet was a homemaker. She was a member of the Montpelier Church of Christ and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, sons and daughter of Wabash RR, Dr. Jeffrey L Montgomery of Bryan, Julie K. Foulk of Montpelier and Jody (Janis) Montgomery of Montpelier, and three grandchildren.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence; one son-in-law, one sister and a brother.

Per Violet’s wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest at West Buffalo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Montpelier Church of Christ.
