The Williams County Port Authority met in a regular session on Friday, June 26. Board members present were Bill Martin, Ashley Epling, Rachel Walz, Cheryl Andres, Shawn Rupp, Joe Kimbell, Tyson Stuckey, Dave Newcomer, and Tyler Sailer. Dawn Fitzcharles was absent.

Following the approval of the May 18, 2026, meeting minutes and financial statements through May 31, 2026, Sailer updated the board regarding the Hinkle Annual Financial Reporting which is developed by the Auditor of State’s office.

Sailer said it costs the Port Authority $2,000 for Shultz, Huber and Associates to do the Hinkle report, which is done every two years. It’s similar to a state audit.

“A couple of days ago we got our last statement from State Bank saying that our line of credit was closed in 2024,” Sailer said. “There hasn’t been anything major that has been brought to our attention at this point.”

Martin appreciated the hard work and effort Sailer has put into the financial report. Sailer, who serves as Port Authority treasurer, also requested reimbursement of $125 for his bonding certification throughout the state.

The board designated Dave Newcomer as the signing authority for the Welcome Home Ohio grant.

Housing Project Updates
-Sacher Street, Edgerton is finished.

-Approved the Depot Street extension, Stryker. The authority is hoping that it will be completed by the end of July.

-421 Cherry Street, Bryan. Construction has started with Christian Builders, Montpelier serving as the contractor.

-Approved bidding out two lots on 323 South Michigan and 408 South Michigan in Edgerton.

The board went into an executive session for the purpose of considering the purchase of real property. No action was taken.

Next meeting will be on Monday, July 27 at 1 p.m.
