(Archbold Resident; Served In US Army)

Yrineo (Jr.) Rodriguez III completed his earthly journey on December 7, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 27, 1946, in McAllen, Texas, Yrineo later made his home in Archbold, Ohio.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and faithful servant of God, his life was a testament to unwavering faith, love, and dedication.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Yrineo served his country with honor from 1967 to 1969. As a Specialist Five Senior Recovery Mechanic in the 8th Infantry Division, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.

Yet, his service extended beyond the battlefield, as he also lived as a Christian soldier, steadfast in his faith and mission to love and serve others.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucia (Lucy) Rodriguez; his parents, Yrineo and Tomasita Rodriguez; his siblings, Estela (Rev. Felipe) Acevedo, Raul (Linda) Rodriguez, and Esther (Noe) Vasquez; his brothers-in-law, Enrique (Elvia) Rivera, Joel Esquivel, Daniel Esquivel, and Elias Esquivel; his sisters-in-law, Estella Rodriguez and Celia Esquivel; and his nephew, Jesse Eli Torres.

Yrineo is survived by his beloved wife of three years, Maria Elena Rodriguez; his three children, Yrineo (Nel) IV (Jennifer), Nelson (Melissa), and Nimrod (Dawn); and his wife’s children, Andrew Nuño, Christopher (Johanna) Nuño, and Melissa (Robert) Mayor.

His enduring legacy is reflected in his cherished 17 grandchildren: Isaac Rodriguez, Lucia Rodriguez, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Gabriella Rodriguez, Yrineo (Jerry) Rodriguez V, Brooklyn Rodriguez, Isabella Rodriguez, Zechariah Rodriguez, Collin Rodriguez, Laelah Rodriguez, Robert Mayor IV, Andrea Mayor, Silas Mayor, Johnny Nuño, Kianu Nuño, Shakira, and Brianna.

Yrineo is also survived by eight siblings: Rev. Eleazar (Lydia) Rodriguez, Rev. Misael (Olga) Rodriguez, Elvia Rivera, Rev. Rosa (Ramiro) Rodriguez, Abel (Regina) Rodriguez, Rev. Lydia (Jesse) Torres, Rev. Moses (Anna) Rodriguez, and Samuel (Rev. Febe) Rodriguez. His nieces and nephews, too numerous to name, were a source of immense joy, and he loved them all deeply.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, from 4-7 PM at The River West, 11080 OH-108 Wauseon, OH 43567, with a memorial service at 7 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 20, at 10 AM at Templo Cristiano, 300 Park Street Archbold, OH 43502, with Rev. Misael Rodriguez officiating. Burial Will follow in the Archbold Cemetery. www.ShortFuneralHome.com
