Larry Lee Moughler, 79, passed away on July 16, 2016, in Fort Wayne, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 4, 1936 in Butler to Ora and Majel (Knox) Moughler. Larry was a lifelong resident and farmer of Butler. After graduating from Butler High School in 1954, he enlisted and served 3 years in the US Marine Corps before being honorably discharged to run his family’s farm after his father became sick with cancer.
Besides his constant service to his family, he also served his community on several boards including his church, the DeKalb Agri Co-op, and currently as a DeKalb County Councilman. He was a perfect example of a husband, father, grandfather, and Christ-like man of God. He was a member of County Line Church of God.
On July 11, 1958, he married Elaine Sholl who worked alongside him on the family farm for 58 years.
He is survived by his wife Elaine; four sons, Leonard (Debra), Edward (Bobbie), Dennis (Sandra), and Todd (Carolyn) all of Butler; four sisters, Ima June Seltenright, Lila Dohner, Eileen McKee, and Linda Moughler; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.
